Hey Netflix, how about a new campaign? Stop switching between renting and buying movies or TV shows.

The biggest mystery is why Netflix doesn’t allow me to purchase movies or TV shows like Apple or Amazon. They are all in the same market in terms of  streaming movies however Amazon and Apple offer the ability to purchase and rent movies as well as TV shows.  In 2012,  Apple claimed that they rented 50,000 TV shows and movies a DAY! Just that number alone should be a selling point to get into the rental business. Now for the purchase business, it has to be much larger since most movies sell for $11.99 and higher. It seems it would be an easy integration for Netflix. All they would have to do is create a section that says ‘My Library’ or ‘Purchased Movies’. Easy right?  I can’t imagine that they can’t get the licenses needed to sell movies or TV shows. We all agree that Netflix has a library that kind of blows when it comes to current movies.  This new feature would solve that problem since we/I would be able to buy the newest movies plus it would increase REVENUE! Also, keeping the customer from going to Amazon or Apple for buying the newest movies or going there at all.  I know what you are thinking, what happens if the movie or TV show becomes available in the Netflix library.  Don’t fret, just credit the customer for the movie or TV show.  This would keep me from switching between companies because I would have all my movies and TV shows under one roof.
